Meeting & Technical Session | ANS Performance &
Engineering Melrose Park, IL |
Our third Fall Meeting for 2003 was held at ANS Performance and Engineering in Melrose Park, IL and featured the crew from PT&E. This was a real enlightning meeting with Harry presenting an array of new products and reinforcing others that are very successful. The GT series of Turbo Chargers are working out to be an excellent product that offers the "WOW" factor over the last generation of products. Harry is introducing a redesigned stock location intercooler.
Dyno pulls were performed as part of the meeting and members had a chance later in the day. What a great time. Pull results.

Meeting & Technical Session | Hubcaps Diner Schiller Park, IL |
Our second Fall Meeting for 2003 was held at Hubcaps Diner in Schiller Park. Hubcaps offers great food in a nostalgic setting of a 50’s diner, which was enjoyed by our participating members. We had approximately 30 members out on this wonderful fall day. Jim McQowan with the Quad Shop (815-874-4884) graciously gave us one of his beautiful prints as a door prize, which went to Bryan Campbell.
Tim with Rally Insurance Group as our first guest speaker. Rally has been a supporter of the Midwest Buick Challenge as well as an advertiser in Fast Times for many years now. It was great finding about the differences between Stated Value and Agreed Valuation when it comes to loss settlement time, as well as the meaning of secured parking, when is a car excluded on the drag strip, how is spare parts covered, and other qualifications needed. Very informative.
http://www.rallyinsurance.com/Jim Evans with Auto Appraisal Group Inc. was there as well to discuss the importance of appraisal services in general and what a good appraisal entails. He answered lots of our member's questions being through and very informative.

Forth of July Car Show | Wilton Industries Woodridge, IL |
The 10th annual Forth of July car show held in conjunction with the Woodridge Police Department's Buckle Up awareness program was a success. It was dry all day and the temperature was perfect. We had over 185 cars that showed up and around 40 of them were Buick's. Once again thanks Frank you did a great job and it's much appreciated and thanks to all the club members that spent their holiday with us!

Samatha Rix Memorial | Byron Dragway The Playground of Power Byron, IL |
Our eight annual Samatha Rix Memorial Race brought a very warm day out of a chilly spring. For all the racers this was a refreshing change. I think the cooler weather caught folks off guard as this race date came up quick and many of us were not ready for the racing season to begin. We were a little short on bracket one and two cars, but plenty of folks participated in bracket 3.

The Chilli Cook off went very well with a dozen samples of the best Chilli on the planet and great sessions featuring Mike Phillips with Automotive Machine and Performance and Paul Ferry with HRpartsNstuff. We would like to thank Pete Barton with ANS for use of his very clean professional facility.

Meeting & Technical Session | Hubcaps Diner 4663 North Ruby Schiller Park, IL |
Hubcaps represents automotive nostalgia from another era, so is a great place to go. This in itself should be an excellent winter diversion.
Gary Kouba with Perfect Auto Finish was our guest speaker. Gary is semi-retired and operates a show car detail business. He taught one of our members Brad Berger how to maintain the paint on his car. To Gary a good detail job on a car takes six (6) hours. This session included what are the better products and how to use these products without damage to your car’s finish.
We had a total of 80 members brave this cool late fall day to enjoy the best the club has to offer on this holiday season. There was way too much food with may excellent examples of what members cooked up. Had an excellent time. We are actually getting better at singing Bad to the Bone, and the 12 days of Buick parts actually went well.
